Ferret Vaccination (Mustelids) in Novi Sad

Ferret Vaccination (Mustelids)

Ferrets must be vaccinated against distemper. Vaccination is crucial because ferrets are very susceptible to this virus.

Regular vaccination is the best prevention and is recommended to all owners, whether the pet is kept at home, comes from a breeder, or if travel is planned with the pet.

Which vaccine do we use?

Due to the lack of vaccines specifically for ferrets, the Nobivac Puppy bivalent vaccine is used, which has proven effective and safe for this species.

Safety recommendation:

There is a small risk of a reaction to the vaccine, which increases with each subsequent dose.
For this reason, we recommend that the ferret stay in the clinic for 20–30 minutes after vaccination so we can observe any possible adverse reactions in time.
Reactions are rare and unpredictable, but treatable.

Additional notes:

  • Ferrets must also be vaccinated against rabies.
  • By law, ferrets must be microchipped.
